Hi! Hey! I’m alive! Sorry I have been MIA around here, life has been crazy! I have been meaning to share some picture from our road trip around Colorado that happened a little bit ago (ok, a little over a month) and I am just now able to sit down to share it.
We chose to drive the San Juan skyway over 5 days. If you haven’t heard of it, it is a scenic by way that is nick named “the million dollar highway” and I can see why. The views are spectacular and if you time it with the aspens turning it is unbelievable picturesque. It starts in Ridgeway, Colorado near Telluride, goes through historic mining towns like Silverton, and hits Durango, Rico, and ends back at Ridgeway. My favorite stops were Ridgeway and Telluride.
The first night we stayed somewhere in Cottonwood Pass in Buena Vista Colorado. We camped at a paid campground off of Cottonwood lake. As you can see the aspen trees are just starting to turn.
The next morning we drove to Ridgeway and stopped at Orvis hot springs. That place was awesome. It was so natural and relaxing. I wish I could have taken picture but they don’t allow cameras inside the hot springs grounds. This is the view from the little country road the hot springs are off of. The mountains you see in the background are the San Juans.

An amazing house in the middle of no where Telluride. That porch though!

After we finished the San Juan Skyway loop we headed up northwest to Grand Junction Colorado for the night. Here we drove through the National Monument.
We took a long detour all the way up to Steamboat Springs because I have always wanted to go to Strawberry Park hot springs. It was well worth the drive. They had about 5 different hot springs ranging to cool to boiling hot. Amazing.
