CRESTED BUTTE is by the far one of the most beautiful places in Colorado. It reminds me of the Swiss Alps (Ive never been to the Swiss Alps so I could be totally wrong on the terrain!). We came here last July and I just fell in love. This weekend we made an impromptu trip to CB with our good friends Peter and Julie. We had originally planned to go camping but with all the fire bans in Colorado, we decided to opt out and stay in a comfortable house instead of a campsite without a campfire. What’s the point of camping without a camp fire anyway? No s’mores= no bueno.
Anyway, so I had worked a 12 hour shift the night before so Brett picked me up from the hospital in the AM so we could drive from Denver to CB. Being the thoughtful husband that he is, he made me a nice little sleeping pad in the back of the car (pictured below). Let me just tell you that sleeping in the back of an xterra feels like you are driving on an unmaintained back country mountain road. It could be Brett’s driving? Or the truck. I will assume the truck.
